Frequently asked questions about our new division, Shorashim, 3-4 year olds. 

How will you group the kids?

A child who will be 3 years old when school starts will be in the 3's group.  A child who will be 4 years old when school starts will be in the 4's group.

Will they go on trips? buses?

3 year olds will not go on the big trips with the camp.  They will stay at camp during the day and participate in activities brought to camp.   4 year olds will go on the trips with the K and 1st graders.  They will also go on the smaller trips and to the gyms a couple times a week. 

We use Dallas County School buses.  They are all air conditioned.  Some will have seat belts but we are not guaranteed to have buses with seat belts.  Children are taught how to safely ride on the buses, no standing, walking or screaming on the bus. 

Will they go to the pools?

3 and 4 year olds will not go swimming at the pools.  We will have splash pools and sprinklers for the children to play in on the days the rest of the camp is swimming (Monday and Thursday).

What are my options for days and times?  What if I want to pick them up early on some days?

We are giving, just this age group, the option to come to camp 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).  In addition, you may send your child until 1:00pm.

What if I want to send my child to camp 5 days until 3:30 but want the option to pick them up early on some days?

For our 3 year olds, that should not be a problem since they will be at camp all day, but please call to let us know.  For our 4 year olds, you need to call us to find out where your child will be.  Swim days, Monday and Thursday, are probably easiest days to come and get them, but please call and check with us to let us know!

Will you put sunscreen on them?

We will put sunscreen on the children before they go swimming.  Please put sunscreen on your child before they come to camp.

Do you feed the children snacks?  What about lunch?

We give the children a small snack when they come to camp, between 9 and 10.  Lunches need to be dairy or parave, please do not send any meat products.  We also offer hot lunch, for purchase, 2 days a week.  This lunch is from Cafe Fino.  We will have a form to fill out soon.

Will the children have any down/rest time?

We will have a daily rest time, in the afternoon, for the children.  Please send a towel or blanket for them to rest on.
